Job Description
CSIK Consulting seeks a Business Development Manager for low voltage and structured cabling in Texas, based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with statewide travel.
Responsibilities
- Own the target pipeline including general contractors, data center operators, hospital systems, school districts, facility managers, and public-sector buyers, using an established, research-backed target list.
- Manage end-to-end prequalification and vendor registrations: GC portals (COMPASS, TradeTapp/BuildingConnected, DPR, Turner), owner and operator vendor systems, hospital supplier programs, purchasing co-ops (TIPS, BuyBoard, ESC Region 7), and state registrations.
- Develop face-to-face relationships with estimators, preconstruction managers, project executives, and facility directors through pre-bid meetings, site walks, industry events (7x24 Exchange, AFCOM, BICSI), and office visits.
- Maintain bid flow by monitoring bid boards and plan rooms, qualifying opportunities, and delivering clean, qualified invitations to the estimator with necessary context to win.
- Nurture post-bid relationships: follow up on outcomes, gather feedback on lost bids, and convert one-time wins into repeat, negotiated work.
- Track the sales pipeline in the CRM to keep leadership informed about upcoming opportunities and their value.
Requirements
- Five or more years of business development, outside sales, or preconstruction experience in commercial construction, ideally with a subcontractor in low-voltage, electrical, or MEP.
- Existing relationships with Texas general contractors, or demonstrated ability to build them quickly.
- Working knowledge of subcontractor prequalification requirements, including EMR, OSHA logs, COIs, bonding, and financial packages.
- A hunter's drive with a builder's patience, comfortable with a 3 to 12 month relationship-to-revenue cycle.
- Based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and willing to travel across Texas 2–4 days per week.
