Regional Sales Director
Job Description

The Regional Sales Director will lead a field-based laboratory sales team to achieve and exceed regional sales goals and drive revenue growth across Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona for central lab product lines.

Responsibilities
- Develop and coach assigned sales teams, ensuring direct-reports are proficient in customer management, product and solution positioning, and all sales processes and tools; promote adherence to commercial best practices.
- Hire and develop a sales team of 6-8 direct reports; set mutual expectations biannually, provide frequent feedback, and discuss development opportunities annually; manage performance improvement when needed.
- Prioritize must-win deals with short-term (3-6 months) and long-term (2-3 years) strategic sales plans and ensure their execution.
- Coach the team on account strategy and own the commercial outcome of new instrument opportunities, including growing Reagent and Consumable Revenue, reducing total cost of ownership, and instrument placements.
- Maintain direct customer relationships, understand regional market conditions, and lead the team to address customer needs and deliver the Siemens Healthineers value proposition.
- Execute key sales operational activities and metrics for funnel management, CRM discipline, sales processes, critical account coverage, and the financial health of each account including contract management and compliance.
- Forecast capital and reagent needs for the region, ensuring accuracy across related product lines and strong top and bottom-line results for each deal.
- Own the commercial outcomes of existing customers across Reagent and Consumable revenue growth, menu expansion, and contract compliance for assigned accounts.
- Conduct regular reviews with the Area Vice President and Field Product Manager to drive regional commercial strategy.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Corporate Accounts organization, internal sales teams, distribution partners, and service/technical organizations to achieve sales goals.
- Lead cross-functional efforts with internal teams to ensure an excellent customer solution and experience, as measured by regular customer feedback.
- Leverage Healthcare Consulting Services and Informatics Sales Specialists to support the sale cycle.
- Coordinate with Service, Technical Applications, Business Operations, Finance, Marketing, HR, and other teams to ensure a positive customer solution and experience.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the team and with partners, balancing customer needs with the company's financial goals through a solution-based approach.
- Directly accountable for leading the assigned sales region to achieve and exceed goals across all Laboratory Solutions products and for the region's financial performance.
- Resolve business problems, especially in dynamic environments, with sound judgment aligned to Siemens Healthineers commercial strategy.
Requirements
- Track record of success leading sales teams (or sales team members) in Laboratory Diagnostics; must reside in the region with knowledge of the respective Integrated Delivery Networks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Inspirational leadership, accountability, drive for results, organizational agility, and ability to build trust and rapport quickly.
- Relevant business acumen including financials, market positioning, healthcare industry, and customer relations.
- Experience in training and development with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
- Proven record in a solution-selling environment and large account development; 7+ years in a complex sales environment (capital equipment, medical devices, etc.).
- 3+ years of experience managing a direct sales team.
- High level of strategic decision making with emphasis on impact and speed, strong critical thinking, advanced sales skills, problem solving, and objection handling.

- Experience developing account-level deal strategy (Miller Heiman) and organizing a team to execute the plan.
- Direct management experience of a Sales Team within the IVD marketspace.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with Area VP and keep leadership informed about progress and priorities via email, Teams, and in person.
- Demonstrated knowledge of product lines, markets, and competitors.
- BS/BA in a related discipline, or an advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
