Job Description

Join Kaimana Beach Hotel- Hawaii in Honolulu, HI, where the Sales Manager role focuses on driving revenue growth through targeted account development, strong client engagement, and disciplined sales execution. You will help maximize occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR) while managing assigned territory to impact hotel performance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build familiarity with Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques, with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and ADR.
  • Conduct professional, thorough site inspections for clients, highlighting key features and property benefits.
  • Develop working knowledge of hotel operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
  • Develop and execute engagement plans for outside sales calls, industry tradeshows, and customer events.
  • Research, solicit, and generate new leads using database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue and meeting lead generation goals.
  • Manage sales transactions and closings to ensure smooth, successful outcomes.
  • Monitor production for top accounts, evaluate market trends, and maintain regular contact based on each account’s tracing frequency.
  • Invite clients for entertainment, tours, and site inspections to strengthen relationships and advance opportunities.
  • Assist with special promotions tied to direct sales segments, including parties and sales blitzes.
  • Attend daily Group RevMAX meetings and weekly sales meetings as needed.
  • Keep sales activity organized in the property’s computerized sales management system (including generating reports, entering business, blocking space, and building accounts).
  • Operate within the established sales expense budget, provide scheduled office coverage, and maintain active sales solicitation programming.
  • Participate in networking through community and professional associations, activities, and events.

Reporting and tools

  • Complete month-end reporting and tracking, assisting in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
  • Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST) and use required tools to manage business execution.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience.
  • Must have a driver’s license in the applicable state.
  • Proficient in Windows and company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings, and maintain regular attendance per scheduling needs.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, including wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to support safe, efficient operations, including maintaining confidentiality.

Physical requirements

  • Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Long hours are sometimes required.
