What you’ll do

- Lead and facilitate Friday district meetings that educate, reinforce expectations, and drive key behavior changes tied to sales results.
- Direct Customer Engagement so district Sales Consultants can offer expanded service channel options, including technology enablers, value added services, and team selling.
- Maximize consultative selling time by leveraging Sales Support resources and tools.
- Use Sysco 360 and the district sales management processes to oversee SC sales planning, prospecting, and daily customer engagement.
- Deliver Sysco brand results and manage conversion opportunities across the district.
- Support and promote national campaigns and promotions throughout the district.
- Provide coaching, training, and timely feedback to strengthen consultative selling skills using The Sysco Way to Sell.
- Apply the CMP and QPP processes to coach performance of sales colleagues in the district.
- Own territory planning and territory management execution.
- Prioritize independent relationships with top customers and high value prospects, while championing company initiatives and implementing center-led strategy.
- Handle additional sales management responsibilities, including operational duties and customer relationship management.
How you’ll succeed
- Provide 2+ years of experience successfully growing profitable sales in the foodservice industry.
- Have 5+ years of foodservice sales experience preferred.
- Meet education requirements with High School education required, plus a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (for example, business administration) or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Bring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving by deriving insights through probing questions and collaborative approaches.
- Use strong organizational and project management skills to execute multiple initiatives autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate mastery of consultative selling skills, including marketing principles, prospecting, networking, coaching, and negotiations.
- Be able to effectively coach, counsel, train, and direct associates, with capability to supervise and motivate others.
- Write reports and business correspondence, and complete administrative duties such as sales budgets and reports, sales records, credit-related processing, pick-up requests, sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing.
- Support profitable growth by developing new business, penetrating existing accounts, and minimizing lost business within the assigned territory.
- Seek and qualify prospects under company account stratification goals, research customer needs, and recommend products based on market trends and customer business goals.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel, answer customer questions on products and availability, and stay informed about product innovations and competitor activity.
- Collaborate on accounts receivable by working with the credit department and collecting balances due based on approved credit terms.
- Manage delivery execution aligned to the routing schedule, and troubleshoot order process issues (such as out of stock items, special orders, and low inventory).
- Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events, including attending sales and district meetings and reviewing daily and weekly reports.
- Participate in ongoing training and assist with training new employees as requested.
