Job Description
This remote and field based role focuses on developing the San Diego and Imperial County territory for modular buildings, strengthening customer relationships, and generating qualified sales and leasing opportunities while collaborating with sales leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory growth plan with the assigned Business Development Manager and Director of Growth
- Regularly visit existing customers to strengthen relationships, discuss future facility needs, and maintain NextMod visibility
- Establish a consistent visitation and follow-up cadence with customers, prospects, and industry partners
- Prospect and develop new opportunities across education, government, military, airports, healthcare, commercial construction, disaster response, and other markets
- Build professional relationships with facilities directors, procurement officers, public officials, architects, engineers, contractors, construction managers, program managers, and executive decision-makers
- Research capital improvement plans, bond measures, funding sources, procurement methods, facility plans, and upcoming construction activity
- Monitor PlanetBids, PB VendorLine, BidNet Direct, RAMP, SAM.gov, and other public purchasing platforms
- Configure and maintain opportunity alerts for modular purchases, leases, temporary facilities, permanent buildings, and related services
- Generate and qualify leads through customer visits, referrals, calls, email, LinkedIn, online research, networking, and industry events
- Schedule and participate in discovery meetings, presentations, lunch and learns, facility tours, site visits, and product demonstrations
- Promote both purchase and leasing solutions based on customer needs, schedules, budgets, funding, and operational requirements
- Help grow leasing revenue by identifying temporary classroom, swing space, office, healthcare, emergency response, and other flexible facility needs
- Attend trade shows, conferences, mixers, association meetings, networking events, site walks, and community activities
- Research and recommend events, associations, sponsorships, and partnerships to increase NextMod visibility and pipeline
- Assist with transporting, setting up, and breaking down trade show displays and marketing materials
- Maintain accurate accounts, contacts, activities, opportunities, notes, follow-up tasks, and source information in HubSpot CRM and Monday.com
- Support proposals, quotes, presentations, customer communications, and internal project handoffs
- Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Production, Operations, Logistics, and Leadership
- Report customer feedback, competitor activity, territory insights, and market developments
- Track customer visits, meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline growth, leasing activity, CRM accuracy, and revenue contribution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent professional experience in AEC, modular construction, public works, facilities, or government contracting
- 2 years of sales or other relevant, client-facing experience
- 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, customer success, construction, real estate, or public-sector contracting
- HubSpot Sales Hub Certification preferred; comparable CRM certification or proficiency with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM may be considered
- Experience using HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM platform
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and professional relationship-building skills
- Confidence communicating with architects, engineers, contractors, facilities leaders, procurement officers, executives, and public-agency representatives
- Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the assigned manager and territory team
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel regularly, including occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight
- Must live within the assigned territory
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Typical Workweek
- Monday and Friday: Territory planning, procurement research, scheduling, CRM updates, pipeline review, follow-up, proposal support, and internal collaboration
- Tuesday through Thursday: Existing customer visits, prospect meetings, facility tours, presentations, site walks, trade shows, conferences, mixers, and networking events
- Schedules may change based on customer availability, project needs, travel, and event schedules
Location and Availability
- Hybrid remote in San Diego, CA 92172
- Two openings to support the San Diego County and Imperial County territories
- Candidates must reside in either San Diego County or Imperial County

- Base salary from 70304 USD per year
