Job Description
Based in Auburn Hills, Michigan (hybrid), the Regional Sales Manager leads growth initiatives for the Michigan/Canada Americas region.
Compensation: USD 90,000 - 115,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by implementing coordinated sales and marketing programs with product managers, engineering, marketing, and the Destaco sales network to achieve targeted growth.
- Develop and nurture relationships with existing and prospective customers across key industries to understand drivers and priorities; expand within current accounts and win new ones by aligning offerings to customer needs.
- Collaborate with system design and product development to identify new product opportunities, enhancements, and specifications for target customers, markets, and industries.
- Advise on competitive positioning with Product Management and the Sales Director and execute effective competitive responses.
- Develop and execute quarterly and annual account plans for targeted markets and key accounts, and implement the sales strategy to meet the plan.
- Lead and develop the Central Region sales team.
- Utilize ERP systems and Salesforce for reporting and analytics.
- Create credible sales forecasts and long-range projections for key account activity.
- Coordinate with sales, engineering, customer service, and technical support to address customer concerns, orders, deliveries, and warranty issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sell the full range of product offerings, maintaining broad product knowledge across lines and continuously learning new products and sales methods.
- Promote safety awareness within the sales team and support a safe work environment through accident prevention and employee involvement.
Requirements
- Five to seven years of technical sales experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience is highly desirable, with a preference for machine builders or end customers in Specialty Automation.
- Engineering or solution-oriented background related to indexers or grippers is preferred.
- Experience with global companies in consumer goods, packaging, and medical sectors.
- Knowledge of GKAM principles and the ability to develop a channel to market strategy for Specialty Automation.
- Experience in proposal preparation and quotation generation is desirable.
- Experience with long sales cycles is desirable.
- Trade show experience is preferred.
- Proven results leading and developing a sales team.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
