Job Description

The Remote Sales Manager for the US market at Postnova Analytics, based in Salt Lake City, UT, oversees nationwide growth with a preference for the Greater Boston/Cambridge area or the New York metropolitan region.

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for developing and expanding the US market.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, government, and industrial research sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, key accounts, and strategic partners.
  • Promote and sell advanced analytical instrumentation, including field-flow fractionation (FFF), chromatography-based solutions, light scattering systems, and particle characterization technologies.
  • Provide technical and application-oriented support during the sales process in collaboration with our scientific and application teams.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate contracts, and close sales opportunities.
  • Represent Postnova Analytics at scientific conferences, trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activities.
  • Collaborate with product management, application scientists, marketing, and service teams in the US and Europe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Material Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Several years of successful sales experience in analytical instrumentation, chromatography systems, laboratory equipment, particle characterization, or related technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales of analytical instrumentation, laboratory equipment, or related scientific products.
  • Strong understanding of chromatographic and separation techniques, including HPLC, SEC/GPC, FFF, light scattering, particle characterization, or comparable analytical methods.
  • Proven track record in direct sales of complex scientific instruments and capital equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with scientists, laboratory managers, directors, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and manage a nationwide territory.
  • Existing network within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, academic, or industrial research organizations is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States (approximately 40–60%).

Your Profile

  • A mix of scientific understanding and commercial sales expertise
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Material Science, or related discipline
  • Several years of successful sales experience in analytical instrumentation or related technologies
  • Minimum 5 years of technical sales experience for analytical instrumentation or laboratory equipment
  • Strong grasp of chromatographic and separation techniques such as HPLC, SEC/GPC, FFF, and related methods
  • Proven direct sales success with complex scientific capital equipment
  • Effective communication with scientists, lab managers, directors, and procurement
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Entrepreneurial, independent, and capable of managing a nationwide territory
  • Desirable existing network within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, academic, or industrial research
  • Willingness to travel nationwide (40–60%)
