Job Description

Based in Myrtle Point, OR, you will drive Castrol Industrial product sales across Northern California, Central California, and the Los Angeles area through a mix of distributor partnerships and direct sales in a B2B environment, while upholding BP values of Safety, Courage, One-Team, Respect, and Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including segmentation, target lists, and a coverage model, to drive volume, margin, and market share growth.
  • Pursue new business by identifying, qualifying, and converting opportunities; expand into new sites, plants, and applications within the territory using both distributors and direct selling.
  • Maintain an accurate Salesforce pipeline with stage, value, close date, and next steps; coordinate forecast cadence with the demand team.
  • Protect and grow gross margin through value-based pricing, mix optimization, and disciplined discount governance.
  • Apply value selling and consultative approaches to enhance customer offers and perceived value.
  • Develop and manage relationships at multiple levels of customer organizations, including senior corporate contacts.
  • Ensure distributor execution, coverage, inventory, demand generation, and training; hold partners accountable to joint business plans.
  • Plan and prioritize territory activities to maximize time with customers and high-value opportunities; ensure timely follow-up and fulfillment of commitments.
  • Collaborate with finance and demand planning to support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial sales experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce; experienced with electronic media and other sales tools.
  • Strong business partnering, consultative selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Prospecting experience with a hunter mindset and the ability to manage pipelines; Salesforce experience is helpful.
  • Knowledge of sustainability concepts, including energy savings and water reuse.
  • Expertise in metalworking products and applications and/or industrial lubrication products and applications is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75 percent of the time within the territory, including some overnights.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Conduct oneself in a safe, ethical manner aligned with BP’s Code of Conduct and values, including Safety, Courage, One-Team, Respect, and Excellence.

Remote and travel details: This position is fully remote, with up to 75% travel within the territory and some overnight stays.
