HealthOp Solutions is seeking a Director of Business Development for the Workersβ Compensation practice to lead revenue growth and expand market presence through strategic partnerships, contract wins, and expanded utilization of behavioral health and specialty evaluation services with payer organizations. This onsite role is based in Phoenix, AZ, with a salary range of USD 120,000 to 150,000 per year.
Job Summary
The Director of Business Development β Workersβ Compensation is charged with expanding revenue and market share within the workersβ compensation landscape. The role centers on forging strategic partnerships, securing contracts, and driving greater utilization of behavioral health and specialty evaluation services across payer organizations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth within workersβ compensation
- Identify, pursue, and close new opportunities with insurance carriers, TPAs, self-insured employers, and managed care organizations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with claims leadership, medical directors, vendor management teams, and nurse case managers
- Promote and drive adoption of neuro evaluations, psychological evaluations, spinal cord evaluations, and therapeutic services
- Lead contracting efforts including RFP/RFI responses, negotiations, and securing preferred vendor status
- Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure alignment with payer expectations and service delivery excellence
- Track and report on pipeline activity, revenue growth, and performance metrics
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and workersβ compensation-focused events
- Support the development of scalable and repeatable business development processes
Requirements
- 7β10+ years of business development or sales experience in workersβ compensation
- Proven success closing contracts and growing accounts with TPAs, carriers, and employers
- Strong existing network within the workersβ compensation ecosystem
- Experience selling healthcare services, behavioral health, or specialty evaluations
- Deep understanding of claims workflows, utilization management, and cost containment strategies
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
- Preferred: Background in behavioral health, rehabilitation, or medico-legal services
- Preferred: Experience with managed care networks or vendor panels
- Preferred: Familiarity with multi-state workersβ compensation environments
